Where is your business based? Are you available to travel and how far?
I am based out of San Diego, CA and operate around the entire Southern California area. However, I am always ready to jetset to wherever you’re planning your wedding. I’ve been fortunate to photograph weddings from NYC to Seattle, Washington and between. Contact me for your destination wedding. My passport is up to date.
What's your style?
My body of work is fresh, authentic, and candidly curated. I let my couples connect genuinely with playful cuddles and real laughter. I focus on true emotions and only jump in to guide my couples with a tilt of the chin, a hand to the face and to find their natural pose when need be. I strive for perfection in camera and keep my editing timeless. No colored filters or actions are ever used.
What are your wedding rates?
Julie Ferneau Photography wedding collections begin at $4000 with plenty of a la carte options available including second photographers and extra coverage time. Typically, my couples invest around $4750 to $6000. For more information on wedding collections and pricing, please send me an e-mail or fill out an inquiry on the contact page.
How do I book you for my wedding?
I receive multiple e-mail inquiries for the same wedding date during peak season. To officially book your wedding date with Julie Ferneau Photography, choose your wedding collection, sign the electronic contract, and pay a $1000 non-refundable retainer. Once all of this is completed, your date is set!
What does a second photographer do? Do I need one?
Second photographers serve as an extra eye, to document all the moments I’m simply not present for because I’m photographing the main attraction (that’s you!) I’ll send my second photographer to capture moments where the groom is getting ready, guests are enjoying cocktail hour, and all the extra details that add to the overall story that is your wedding day.
How long do wedding portraits typically take?
Plan for at least 30 to 40 minutes for couple portraits that are that are separate from family and wedding party photos with your wedding planner or coordinator. Many of my couples opt for a first look as it provides a stress-free time before the wedding rolls into action and allows you to enjoy cocktail hour with your friends and family.
Do you have liability insurance?
Yes as well as backup equipment. If you need me to turn in a copy of my insurance, please give me at least 30 days of advance notice.
When should we expect to receive our photos?
You should expect to see highlights of your wedding on the blog and social media within 2 weeks. You will receive your high-resolution digital files, a print release, and an online gallery where you can download and order any additional prints within 6 weeks of your wedding.
What can we do with these photos now that we have them?
Your photos are for personal use, meaning that you and family members can download, order prints, and albums from the online gallery. You can share these photos all over Facebook as long as you attribute or tag “Julie Ferneau Photography” with each image. Keep in mind, these files are copyrighted, meaning you are not allowed to edit, crop, or use these photos for promotional use. I love submitting couples photos to online publications, so please contact me beforehand so that we do not double submit.
